New Venue - Opening Night

It's time.........our Saturday night venue is all set to go so come along this SATURDAY NIGHT 4th February 2006 for our first ever Saturday night class.

The class format will be slightly different (starting with Intermediate class) and the venue will have a night club atmosphere condusive to dancing, dancing and more dancing.

Venue: Essence Supper Club
Address: 11 Nerang St Southport

One or both classes for a flat rate of $10.
(monthly passes are valid)

New Class Format: just for Saturday nights!

7:15pm	Doors open
7:30pm	Intermediate Class First
8:10pm	Freestyle
8:30pm	Beginner Class
9:15 - 10pm	Freestyle

After 10pm, dancers who have participated in the class are are welcome to continue into the night dancing to music provided by the live DJ at Essence without covercharge.

Party Report

Another fabulous turnout at the Broadbeach Mall Dance Party last week. We had over 80 people on the floor for most of the night and a couple of hundred through the course of the night checking out the action as they passed through.

Thanks to all our supporters! Brisbane had a great contingent down again and I know our Coasties enjoyed having a variety of dancers to dance with and to watch. Special thanks of course to all our regulars who always know how to have a big night on the dance floor - we couldn't do it without you. Welcome along to all our newcomers who experienced their first 'open air dance party'. Hope you enjoyed!

Next party in the mall is on the 25th March - see you there.

Beginner Workshop - 19 February

The aim of the beginners' workshop is to get you out there on the floor enjoying freestyle as soon as possible - after all, that's what it's all about!

You will learn a number of base moves (moves which can be varied later on) in more detail than our regular classes allow. The basic techniques you'll learn from these base moves can then be applied to the many variations you'll encounter in our Intermediate / Advanced classes.

Beginner workshops do not require your own partner but you do need to book.

Technique covered will include:

Rhythm and Timing
Handholds and Leads from the Man
Spinning Technique
Footwork
Freestyling
Basic Dips and Drops; and
Developing Your Own Style.

Date:	Saturday, 19th February 2006
Time:	2:00pm till 4:00pm
Cost:	Just $30pp for two hours Only $25 each if paid by 10th Feb!
Venue:	Broadbeach Bowls Club (not the Friday night venue) - Cnr Americk & Surf Pde, BROADBEACH
Partner:	No partner required.

This is a great opportunity to have a full weekend of dancing so if you missed out on the December Dance Camp, lock these dates into your diary for workshops with John.

Saturday 25th & Sunday 26th March.

John will arrive on Friday afternoon so girls, Friday nights class will be your opportunity to dance with one of Australia's best male dancers.

Guys - look and learn! If you want girls swooning over you on the dance floor, book in for John's workshops.

NOTE: The March Broadbeach Mall Dance Party will be Saturday 25th so it will be a packed weekend of dancing for all. Don't miss it.
