Price Changes

It's been 2 years since Le Step on the Coast have put the prices up but with our venues increasing their hall hire and conditions for securing the venues etc becoming more complex, we've had to adjust our prices accordingly.

The price changes for 2008 classes and passes are as follows:

Adult admission = $14
Student admission = $11
Monthly passes = $70
First Timer passes = $45 (no change)

The monthly pass is still fantastic value and we would encourage everyone to consider this as an option, not only for a $$$'s saving but also for increasing the amount of classes you attend, advancing your dancing much more quickly.

Our Le Step classes are still great value for money as many other dance styles charge a minimum of $15 for 1 hour. Le Step's $14 admissionwill still get you 3 hours of dancing, socialising, fitness and fun.

Dress Code...

A reminder that our Dress Code for classes is 'Smart Casual'. Some of you will have noticed that we do not allow 'shorts' at our classes.

Think of it like this... would you wear shorts out to a club on Saturday night? Face it, put shorts and dancing together and it just looks 'wrong'! For our workshops or when learning routines, anything goes, but for our social classes, let's keep the standard to 'smart casual..

Gentlemen, we also require sleeves on shirts!

If you're not sure about the dress code, please ask one of our friendly door staff for a copy of the dress code for guys or girls.

PS: please note that at each of our classes, you will find both mens and womens deodorant. This is supplied at no expense to you and we encourage EVERYONE to help themselves liberally. Dancing is a contact sport and as we're in our warmest months we should all be a little more aware of what can be an awkward situation to address.

It's been great to see both men and women bringing a change of shirts to class too. Very considerate. These are just a few little tips that will ensure everyone enjoys their dancing!

Feb Dance Party!

Join us on Saturday 2nd February for the first 2008 Mall Party "Under the Sails".

Very popular with local dancers and Brisbane dancers too, this is a FREE dance event so make sure you can come along.

Date: Saturday, 2 February
Time: 7:00 - 10:00pm
Location: "Under the Sails"
Cost: FREE

Don't forget that the first half hour will consist of a mini dance lesson for anyone who wants to try. Bring your friends and/or family - all welcome.

Le Step Shirt Orders

Our new logo is complete and orders for shirts are being taken now!

If you're interested in purchasing a new Le Step on the Coast shirt, order forms will be available at class next week. We will be taking an order for guys and girls shirts that will be going to the embroiderer on the 4th Feb.

The absolute last order will be taken on Friday, 1st Feb - so if you want one, let us know.

Xmas Party Report

Friday 21 December was the Le Step Xmas party and the final class for 2007 held at our Broadbeach venue. This event had a massive turnout with just under 200 people attending.

After the beginner class the freestyle section began and the atmosphere was festive and exciting. It was great to see some of you who've been caught up with your busy lives and schedules, still manage to join us for this end of year occassion. Socialising is a big part of Le Step so it was wonderful to see people catching up with old friends too.

Just after the pizza was devoured, we had a West Coast Swing Demonstration by Allan, Kat, Emma, Clint, Jamie and Erin. This was a mini routine that these guys learnt on a recent visit to Sydney to experience learning from the Worlds Best in that field.

After that, Allan and Holly took to the stage to woo everyone with there "up close & personal" moves! There was lots of laughter and giggles coming from both the stage and the floor which is a good sign with so many people getting into the moves.

All in all, the atmosphere was perfect for this end of year function. We look forward to seeing you all at class now in 2008 for many more social functions and dance challenges.

Routine coming soon...

The first routine for 2008 will be taught in Feb/Mar ready for the Le Step Ball in April.

The routine will be taught over 6 weeks of Sundays and will be pitched at the Beginner/Intermediate level.

BEGINNERS: routines are a proven way of committing moves to memory and will assist your freestyling capabilities.

INTERMEDIATES: if you've never done a routine before, seriously consider it as it will improve your freestyle and musicality.

More information will be disclosed at classes. If you'd like to be part of this fun activity, start looking for a partner now. If you're not sure, come and have a chat with Al, Kent or Emma at class (so we can talk you into it!) or let us help you find a partner.
