Tuesday @ Arundel - new INT routine being performed tonight
Had a fantastic long weekend? Don't sit at home after all that good food and good living. Get out and about during the week and go dancing at Arundel. Some of the Le Step team have been in Sydney competing and have come back on a dance high. Go along and see what they have to share with you this week.
Kat Ski teaching this Tuesday with Al as her demonstrator and Laura and Justin to teach the re-cap class. Ask them about their trophies....

Wednesday @ Dance HQ - we'll do the new routine for you this week!
After collecting more trophies in Sydney this weekend, Emma will be teaching at HQ on Wednesday night with Pete as her demonstrator for the beginner class and another trophy winner Isaac, for the intermediate class. Pete and Jenny will go through the re-cap class with all our newcomers.
Wednesay night numbers are on the up again so being "hump" day (middle of the week for those needing clarification), get out of the house and go have some fun at HQ.

Thursday @ Burleigh
All three of the Directors here on the Coast can be found at Burliegh with Allan, Emma AND Kent all dancing and teaching at this venue along with a support crew of awesome dancers. You forget that you have some of Australia's best dancing talent teaching you right here on the Coast and they're all in the one venue on Thursday nights!
This week Al is teaching with Emma as his demonstrator and Kent will be teaching the re-cap class with Fern.
Consistent numbers and a regular crowd make for a fun night of dancing. Come and check out the new Thursday night venue!

Friday @ Broadbeach - Now with Extended Freestyle
Awesome numbers coming through on Friday nights! This is also the gathering place of some of Queenslands best dancing talent. Classes for all levels of dancers from beginner to advanced. Don't miss out!
Kent will be back on stage this week with Katie (another trophy winner from the Sydney comp on the weekend) and then Jade will join him for the intermediate class. Katie and Graham will then teach the re-cap class while Coby and Chrissy teach the intro-mediate (middle level) class.

If you dance a lot but not quite enough to make use of the Monthly pass, consider one of our new look passes that offer discounts for block purchases.
New-Look Multi-Lesson Passes are now available at a significant saving of over 10% for a 6 night pass or over 15% for a 12 night pass.
This means.....$75 for 6 classes OR $142 for 12 classes.
Monthly Passes are still awesome value for all of you Dance Junkies. For just $70 you can dance at any of our Le Step venues in Brisbane, Gold Coast or even the Sunshine Coast, for the entire calendar month.

Did you learn the last Coasties routine?
Do you want to learn a routine (or another routine)?
Do you want to increase your ability to link moves together?
Do you want to improve your styling?
If you answered 'yes' to any of those questions then make sure you sign up for the next Gold Coast Routine and NO - we're not doing the Superstar routine! After much discussion and deliberation it was decided that something new and fun would be more exciting.
Emma, Al and Kent have choreographed another fun routine jam packed with great moves for all dancers. You will need a partner for the routine so start finding one now. The routine starts in June and will be taught at Dance HQ on Sunday afternoons in 6 x 2 hour sessions. For those who are learning the routine, a DVD will be available for purchase to assist in learning and maintaining the routine. Traditionally, these will be ready by week 5 of the routine.
The routine will be ready in time to perform at the Soiree (see below) so for those interested in showing off what they've learnt, that's the ultimate goal.
Brochures are available at class now! The "James Dean Routine" will be a little more challenging than the last one but with a massive emphasis on having fun and dancing with musicality and style.
PS: with the Brisbane competition coming up in September, participants may be hand picked for a team entry....something to work toward - take up the challenge!
Sydney Competition Report!
What an awesome weekend away! The Gold Coast Le Step team have made us very proud and combined with the Brisbanites, Queensland brought home a lot of trophies!
The Coasties alone brought home over 25 trophies! With 14 out of the 16 people who competed, we had placings in nearly every event. Below are some of the results with the Coasties in bold for recognition....these will be updated shortly.

This was an exceptional result for the whole of Le Step, Brisbane and Gold Coast combined. The Ceroc & Modern Jive staff and organisers of the event were extremely professional and the competition ran to time with a great vibe filtering through to all dancers and spectators. A big thank you to Julie, Nicky and so many more for making our visit so much fun.
A big thankyou to all our own dancers who supported this event and were part of the Le Step team. You all worked very hard in preparation for the event and it paid off wonderfully. Each of you deserve much congratulations and respect. Good on you!
Now.......start getting ready for the Queensland comp in September!! :)
Gold Coast Soiree
All the info you need is under Events and Soiree.
The Soiree held last year for the first time is back and will be bigger and better than the first. We had some very positive feedback from our initial event and have taken on board some of the suggestions for this years event in an attempt to provide you with an even BETTER night out.

This event will include dance performances, 1.5 hours of succulent nibbles, 3 hours of beer, wine, champagne, juice and soft drink in the gorgeous environment of the Hyatt Regency in Sanctuary Cove.
A "cocktail event" bringing out the glam and glitz of all our dancers. As this is a Soiree, tickets are limited and it's strictly first in first served. Tickets will be sold from 30 June - 25 July with the early bird rate of $89 for tickets purchased prior to 14 July 2008. All tickets purchased after this date will be at $95.

Dance Escape - Modern Jive Party Week - Sept 2008
Dance Escape 2008 incorporates our;
1. Dance Camp
2. Additional activities throughout the week
3. Championship Weekend of activities
You will be able to book for the whole event or just part of the event.
Our Dance Camp Early-bird Tickets will be released in just a few weeks so get prepared now.
This year there will be three levels of accommodation available. Subject to availability, each level of accommodation will be available at the Early-Bird rate, Standard rate and Late-Booking Rate. However we expect the highest standard of accommodation (about 70 beds) will sell out very fast, so get in early if this is what you want.
Registration for the week of activities and competition will occur later.
