Monday nights @ COOLANGATTA with Allan, Emma & Kent!

Our Monday night format is Beginner Class, Freestyle, Intro-Mediate Class followed by more Freestyle! If you're keen to start progressing to the next level but you're worried about the degree of difficulty, come and try a Monday night class at Cooly. Our second class at this venue is like a "bridging" class to help you take the next step up from beginners.

This week Kent is taking the class with Vicky for Beginner and then Kat for Intro-mediate. This venue is popular with some of our most dedicated dancers so there's plenty of good dancers to mix it up with....if you haven't tried it you, car pool with your friends and head to Cooly for a boogie tonight.

Tuesday nights @ ARUNDEL with Allan!

This Tuesday night, Al will be back on stage teaching at Arundel. Laura will join him for the beginner class the Holly will join him for the intermediate class while Laura teaches re-cap wtih Stephen. This Tuesday Kat will teach intro-mediate with Atul so there's many options to choose from.

Tuesday numbers are holding steady with heaps of good dancers to choose from. Come along and join the friendly crowd on a Tuesday.

REMINDER: We now offer an Intro-Mediate Class every Tuesday night at 9pm. This means something for everyone with 3 classes to choose from based on your level of dancing

Wednesday nights @ SOUTHPORT with Emma!

Emma will be joined on stage this week by Pete for both the beginner and intermediate classes. For the second round of classes at 9pm, Justin and Ciara will take the re-cap class and Janelle and Dean will take the intro-mediate class.

Numbers are good and the atmosphere on Wednesday's is fun. With the year starting to wind down, make sure you get your fill of dancing in before the Xmas break. Wednesday nights are full of laughs and it's a friendly night out of dancing.

REMINDER: the Intro-Mediate Class is now being offered at HQ as well, so at 9pm, there will be 3 classes to choose from based on your level of dancing - something for everyone.

Friday nights @ BROADBEACH with Kent!

Kent will be joined by the newly married Chris Rizzo for the beginner class this week! Congrats to Rob and Rizzo who got married on 2nd November! Rachel will join Kent on stage for the intermediate class while Rizzo and hubby Rob will take the re-cap class. Jade and Ross will teach the intro-mediate class and wow - what a night with huge numbers every Friday.

There's always heaps of good dancers to dance with aon Friday's nd for those who simply want to freestyle for a lot longer, we've got extended dance time until 11pm!

This is a great social night of dancing and socialising. Join the crew and extended Le Step family down at the Casino from 11:30pm for coffee and cake or drinks and dinner!

Workshop Report

We had a great turnout for the weekend of workshops held here on the Gold Coast on Saturday 8th November with 75 people in attendance!

The beginners were excited by the technique they can apply to what they've already learnt and are paving the way for the new breed of dancer coming onto the scene.

The intermediate/advanced dancers are loaded up with things to work on to ensure they become some of the best dancers in the country. The Gold Coast dancers coming out of Le Step are being recognised as some of the most versatile dancers on the national scene and it's a testament to each and everyone of you who love your chosen sport and seek to excel.

The feedback we receive about the overall standard here at Le Step on the Coast is extremely good and we look forward to sharing as much knowledge of the dance as we can with you.

For those who attended the dance party after the workshops, thank you for your support. It was a long day but the party was fun and the dancing was great.

Keep your eyes and ears open for the next lot of workshops in the New Year....

Broadbeach Mall Dance Party - last for 2008

Join us for the last Broadbeach Mall Dance Party for 2008. We'll meet for pizza at Pizzacake from 5:30pm and then hit the dance floor from 7pm. Here's the details you need to know so mark them in your diary and head "Under the Sails" for a great night out with friends!

There will be a beginner introduction class from 7pm so make sure you drag your friends who've been promising to give it a go, to the Broadbeach Mall and get amongst the fun.

This is an open air dance party so wear something light and cool for this amazing summer night event.

If you've noticed the boys at Le Step a looking a little shaggy and unshaven of late, give them a pat on the back coz it's not coz they are just being scruffy,....it's in support of MOVEMBER - a very worthy cause to raise awareness on mens health!

The team includes: Kent, Allan, Big Dan, Atul, Lee, Mervin, Brent, Graham and Scott (from Melbourne)!

These guys got together and formed a team that have a raised a combined figure of $545 for the cause - and it's only week 2.

If you'd like to support the boys and their assortment of mo's, Le Step on the Coast will accept gold coin donations at the door of any venue for the month of Movember! (Receipts available upon request)

Each Friday night at class, the boys will get together for the "progress photo" on their mo's. Good on you guys. We love the team spirit!

Christmas Party 2008

We will celebrate Christmas together for the last class and danceparty of the year on:

Friday, 19th December 2008

Join us at our Broadbeach venue for a beginner class and then an extended dance party to socialise and wish each other well over the festive season.

This will be a true Christmas party with lots of games and pizza and nibbles. You are welcome to BYO drinks but please be careful about driving home. We will have the esky with basic water and soft drink for those who wish to purchase as usual.

Kick off will be at 7:30pm sharp for the beginner class.....pizza will arrive during the first freestyle so get in early.

NOTE: This will also be the last class for 2008. The first class back in the New Year will be Monday, 5th January 2009!

The "LOW" routine is coming in 2009!

PERFORMED AT THE LE STEP QLD COMPETITION IN SEPTEMBER

If you saw it at the comp and went 'wow', then line yourself up a partner as soon as possible and register to learn this awesome routine in February 2009.

The routine will be taught over 6 weeks of Sunday afternoon sessions and you will need your own partner.

The dates are as follows:

This routine was choreographed by Allan and Holly Skinner who will be teaching you over the 6 weeks. There's a lot to learn and this will be a challenging routine for those who want to be a part of the progression of Modern Jive. If you love your dancing then don't miss out on this opportunity.
