News 13th March 2009
"The people who do not dance are the dead." ~ Jerry Rose of Dance Caravan
What's been happening?
Wow! It's mid March already!
Our first Brisbane Dance Party for 2009 attracted a great crowd of over 80 people. Thanks to everyone including some of the Coasties for joining us. Thanks also to Jack and Julia for running the party whilst I was teaching at the Hunter Valley weekender.
The next Dance Party is this Saturday 14th March on the Gold Coast. More info below. Please check out our calendar for upcoming events.
The Hunter Valley weekender not only provided me and some Coasties a chance to teach others what we are doing here in Queensland, it provides an awesome opportunity to network with other teachers and dancers from around the country and bring their stuff back for you. I then headed off to Victoria last weekend where I was one of the guest teachers. Again, plenty of new stuff to share with you are class.
A reminder to add the 9th May to your diary as the date for our annual Ball at the Greek Club.
Whilst you've at it, our Dance Camp will be 20th - 22nd November at Mapleton.
See you at class,
Free Dance Party this Saturday - Gold Coast
I'll be on the Coast on Saturday night and hope to see lots of Brisbanites there.
Here's the info:
"The next party date is coming up in March and will be held out the Gold Coast's ever popular Broadbeach Mall.
There will be a beginner introduction class from 7pm so make sure you drag your friends who've been promising to give it a go, to the Broadbeach Mall and get amongst the fun.
This is an open air dance party so wear something light and cool for this amazing summer night event. Join us fron 6pm at Pizzacake for lots of pizza and drinks to get in the mood. A great way to socialise with your fellow dancers and you can "work it all off" by dancing til late!"
The Mentor and I/A Routines - 2009
Our two brand new Brisbane routines have started and were really well attended.
We have over forty people registered for Poker Face and over 30 people for the Mentor Routine.
Our next sessions are this coming Sunday.
The past few Friday nights have been great.
The early part of the nights have been dominated by the girls - so boys it would be a great help if you could show up in time for the beginner class. It's also a great way to get to know a lot of new girls who have recently joined us on Fridays.
Why not get a group together and join us from 6:20pm for the $10 BBQ?
There is a big group of Queenslanders heading to Victoria for their Modern Jive Championships in May.
The weekend runs from Friday 1st - Sunday 3rd May.
If you are interested in joining us please let us know.
You can get more info at www.vmjc.com.au.
We also have leaftets out at our classes.
Annual Le Step Ball at The Greek Club
