Weller's Hill Venue - Open tonight
After being closed for Easter and proposed renovations, our Weller's Hill venue was due to have a new look for tonight. Unfortunately, something to do with money coming through from government funding has lead to a delay in the renovations but the club is open as per usual for tonight. The renovations will be going ahead soon.

Join us tonight (Friday 24th April) for;
the $10 BBQ from 6:15pm. For $10 why bother cooking?
the class from 7:30pm

I (Mick) will be teaching the Intermediate class but you're going to have Kelly as the guest teacher for the Beginner class. Kellie has years of experience and is a regular teacher at our Chermside classes. I'm sure you'll enjoy her relaxed but professional teaching style.


What's been happening at Le Step?
Thanks to the nearly 20 people who joined us on the Gold Coast last Friday in lou of our Weller's Hill class being closed. It was great to see so many of you make the effort to travel to the Coast.

Last Saturday night we had nearly 20 Coasties come up to Brisbane for our Dance Party at Mt.Gravatt. Thanks for joining us Coasties.


2009 Ball Tickets still available
Tickets to the 2009 annual Queensland Modern Jive Ball are still on sale.

UPDATE: In the first 4.5 hours we allocated over 130 seats! It's going to be an awesome night.

This is an awesome night full of dance displays, a 3 course meal, some shared drink to start the night and dancing to a live band.
Ticket this year will be $125 for five hours of fun at the Greek Club.
Get your friends together to book a table or just attend by yourself. Bookings essential.

Personal Hygene
I have had a few people mention to me recently that some of our guys and girls need to be reminded of the need to use deoderant.

For those of you who forget to bring your own deoderant you will find some free deoderant on the front desk or in the bathrooms (depending of the venue). There is no embarrassment in using the deoderant we provide. However, it can be embarrassing if myself or one of the crew have to mention that you stink.

PLEASE;
make sure you use anti-perspirant or deoderant, particularly if you do not have time to shower before class
bring a change of shirt and perhaps a sweat towel if necessary
bring your own breath-freshener or use the mints at the door



Please pay cash for purchases under $45.
At some venues we offer eftpos/credit card facilities for purchases of $45 and over.

We have deliberately set the limit at $45 so people cannot slow things up at the door by paying by this method for just one class.
The reason for that is that we have sooooo many people (140 on Wednesday) trying to get through the door in time for the classes and obviously paying by card is slower than paying by cash. So, please try bring cash and keep everyone else smiling too!

We have allowed our door staff to offer this facility for purchases under $45 at their discretion but this is slowly getting out of hand and really slowing things up on the door for everyone else. So, please help us and everyone else by bringing cash to class if you care just paying for a standard class.


Le Step Merchandise - order to be placed by TONIGHT Friday 24th April
Rather than stock lots of merchandise that needs to be carted from venue to venue we take everyone's orders and then have the order processed.

So, if you want some of our merchandise that will feature our new logo, now is the time.

Dress Code at Classes
Thanks to everyone for sticking to our 'Smart Casual' dress code.
A reminder guys that we do not allow 'shorts' at our classes.
Shorts and dancing just do not work together.

Also, guys for hygiene reasons we do not allow shirts with cut-off sleeves.
Most people are fine, but if you're not sure, please ask one of our friendly door staff for a copy of the dress code for guys or girls.

Doors Open at 7:15pm
A reminder that doors open at all venues at 7:15pm.
At Weller's Hill the Bar and BBQ are open early for you.

Before this time the doors at some venues are locked whilst we are running private classes, filming routines or generally getting staff and crew prepared for the night ahead. However, we encourage you to be there by at least twenty or twenty-five past seven so that we can start the class for everyone at 7:30pm sharp.

Guys, the girls are generally much better at this so please help out in this regard if you can. It really helps when we can start the class on time and with relatively close to equal ratio of girls and boys. Thanks!

Please do your best to be there on time as it really helps all our new people to have experienced people there from the start.

Monthly Passes - 8 venues available
Simply because of how the days fall in May, it's another great month to start getting a Monthly pass.

Immerse yourself in Le Step classes with an 'Unlimited Access Monthly Pass'. Monthly passes are a great way to improve your dancing without it costing you a fortune.

For $70pp (the cost of just 5 casual classes) you can get unlimited access to;
all 4 Le Step Classes in Brisbane (Holland Pk, Chermside, West End & Weller's Hill)
and all 4 Classes on the Gold Coast (Coolangatta, Southport, Broadbeach & at Arundel/Parkwood).

Ask at the front door to get your Monthly Pass.

*Monthly Passes give you unlimited access to all our regular classes. They are not valid for special events (unless otherwise stated), dance parties or workshops.
Flux CMS - Do you need it?
Our web site and e-newsletters are managed by a program called 'Flux' which was created by the husband of one of our dancers. (We're still working on getting him dancing!)

I find it is a great system and I recommend it to anyone who needs a CMS (Content Management System) for a web site or e-mail newsletters. No, I'm not working on commission... I just want to promote this product because I think it's great and it's great to be able to support the businesses of our dancers.
