Hi from W.A.!
Rach and I have been enjoying a few days "r and r" after a massive weekend of workshops with Helen in Perth. My thanks to the teachers and crew who are filling in with all the things that need doing whilst we are away. I hear Julia had a great class on Monday, Kellie is on tonight at Chermside and then you have Lee on Wednesday at Kangaroo Point. I'll be back with some new stuff on Friday night at Weller's Hill.

We have our alternate Wed night venue for 2 MORE Wednesdays. Please note the Intermediate class and Beginner classes will both start at 8:30 and run to a different format. More info below.

Enhance your Dance - Workshop series
Coming soon is a series of workshops that will assist all of our Intermediate and Advanced dancers. The workshops are about your general freestyle dancing - and for those of you who are interested in competing later in the year, there will be additional stuff to assist you in your preparation. See below for more info.

Dance all you want for $18 per week.
If you'd like more information about our offer of $18 per week for unlimited regular weekly classes please ask our door staff.

This offer is for those who like the idea of cheaper classes combined with the convenience of a continual direct debit payment system. There are a few set-up things for us to take care of with the third party provider, so to get things happening for you it's a minimum 12 weeks contract which, subject to some basic conditions, you can then stop at any time.

We have phased in this payment option over the past few months and we're now ready to get others on board. So, if this plan suits you please ask our door staff for more information.


Alternate venue for 2 more Wednesdays.
We're excited about Colossus Reception Lounge (our West End venue) putting in an entire new dance floor!

Whilst this happens we will have to move out for a total of three weeks. (Two more to go.)
The dates are the last two Wednesdays of June (23rd & 30th) and the first Wednesday of July 7th).

The alternate venue is not far away at Kangaroo Point.
It's Unity Hall at 35 Princess St Kangaroo Point.
It's really easy to find as Princess St is the street that has McDonald's and KFC on the corner.

Due to a prior permanent booking that does not finish until 8pm, we will set up from 8:15pm, have a quick entering system with two computers, and have you entering at 8:20 for a different format evening starting at 8:30pm.

The emphasis will be on fun freestyle nights!

8:20pm	Doors Open
8:30pm	45min Beginner Class & Intermediate Class.
	Two separate classes running at the same time.
9:15pm	1/2hr Freestyle Dance Time
9:45pm	Freestyle Dance till 11pm
11:00pm	McDonalds for coffee?
	It's about 50m away.

As a bonus you will have Lee teaching on 30th June!

We'll be back to Colossos Reception Lounge at West End from 14th July. So join us that night to christen the new dance floor.


'Enhance your Dance' - Workshop series
Rather than offer another standard routine, we wanted to give you something different but something that will really assist your dancing no matter who you are or how long you've been dancing.

One of the key benefits of a routine is that you do some of the same stuff over and over which helps it become second nature. With that in mind, we have a series of workshops that will encourage you to go over the stuff you learn each week and enable you to enhance your dance by building on from one workshop to another.

We have also asked a few additional teachers to help so that you get to hear things from a different point of view as we draw on a vast variety of experiences.

You do not have to do all workshops but we have designed them so that most of them build on the techniques and skills each week.

Pricing: $30ea or all 6 for $130.
A two hour workshop is usually $30pp.
However, we understand many of you are on a budget, so we have priced this series of six workshops the same as what you would pay for a routine - $130.
Should you decide to do only some of the workshop you also have the option to pay for them individually at $30ea.
Time: 5:30 till 7:30pm
Venue: St.Joachim's Hall - Crown St Holland Park.

Brisbane Dance Party
Our next Brisbane Dance Party is on THIS Saturday!!!
The parties at Mt.Gravatt are always great so come and join us.

For those of you who are keen to travel to the Coast, the next Broadbeach Mall Dance Party is Saturday 10th July in the Broadbeach Mall.
Under the Sails from 7:00 - 10:00pm. Hope to see you there.

Do you have friends who are from the Northside?
Please tell them about our Northside venue at Chermside and our
free night for first-timers again tonight - Tuesday.

If you have not been to Chermside before, maybe you'd like to check it out.
As a smaller venue it's easier to meet people, see what's going on in the class and get a dance with some of our better dancers and crew members.
Lots of the crew and regulars also enjoy the meals that are available from 6:30pm.

It's also got a huge floor and plenty of parking at the back of the building.

danceEscape September 2010
It's confirmed that danceEscape will run from Friday 3rd till Sunday 12th September 2010.

danceEscape is a massive 10 day event with some of the best dancers in the country heading to Queensland.
The danceWeekender features workshops from Master Modern Jivers.
During the week we will have more social and dance related events including an Intermediate/Advanced and Masters routine which will be performed at the pre-Champs buffet dinner and dance party.
The event culminates with a major Modern Jive competition on Saturday 11th September.

Fab new venue for 2010 danceChamps

This modern facility will have awesome atmosphere on the comp night.

Please be aware that the venue is a bit smaller than the venue we have used over the past few comps and there will only be 380 seats available. So, when ticket sales are announced you should get in straight away or miss out of a fabulous night of dance.
The new venue is only a few years old and is situated on the hill at Stuartholme Girls School in Birdwood Terrace Toowong (at the base of Mt.Cootha).


Before booking the venue, we have had a number of our best dancers visit the venue and they all gave it the tick of approval.
For team events, please be aware that the usable dance area is approximately 9m wide by 7m deep.

This is going to be another extraordinary danceChamps event!
