News 24th January 2012What's happening at class...Whilst 2011 finished on a high note with 200 attending our Christmas Party and round one of Blitz tickets selling out, 2012 has started massively well with great atmosphere at all our classes in Brisbane, at Redcliffe and on the Gold Coast. Choreography for our first two 2012 routines is totally finished and the cheat notes are good to go. Both routines are looking great and start mid February but right now is the time to find a partner for both routines. We will provide you with a sneak peek at some of our classes soon. Make sure you 'like' our Facebook page so you will know when this is happening. Girls, don't wait to be asked or you will miss out on a partner. New Music Thanks to everyone for the great feedback about all the new music. There's something in there for everyone. The basic techniques you'll learn from these base moves can then be applied to the many variations you'll encounter in our Intermediate / Advanced classes. Wednesday Night Coffee - join us this week (pre-Public Holiday) Join us after our West End class at 71 Jane St every Wednesday night from 10:30pm at Coffee Club in Boundary St West End. Here's a map. Download your virtual card NOW. The app you want is called "eCredible". Everyone now has the option of getting a standard physical membership card or a virtual card on your smart phone - or both. Simply present your virtual wallet (eCredible) at class and we will scan your membership barcode straight from your smart phone. As more and more businesses adopt this technology it means you can have not only your Le Step membership card but lots of other membership cards stored on your phone instead of making your wallet or purse really bulky with cards. iPhones If you would like to download the eCredible app to your iPhone you can do so now at iTunes. Click on the star to get your Le Step Membership card on your phone. If your Membership card does not download to your eCred wallet, please let us know as it probably means we don't have your correct mobile phone number. Android Phones The application for Android phones is now available in the android market. Click on the star to get your Le Step Membership card on your phone. If your Membership card does not download to your eCred wallet, please let us know as it probably means we don't have your correct mobile phone number. Please be aware that your experience with the eCred virtual wallet/purse will be fairly simple until more and more and more businesses sign up for the application and all its benefits. In the meantime, enjoy the fact that you are part of a new experience. Le Step Brisbane was the first Queensland business to use eCredible but lots more will follow, including some big name companies that we cannot mention just yet! I (Mick) am marketing the eCred application here in Queensland as a sideline business called 'Virtual Cards Australia'. As such I am in a very privileged position to help any dancers who have businesses that would benefit from a virtual membership or loyalty cards. Gift cards are also available and there is lots more to come. If you want to chat more (with no pressure to use the system) please give me a call on 0412 174 111. If it works for your business then great and if it doesn't that's fine too. Think of it this way; if it's in your wallet we can probably put it on a smart phone instead. Le Step dates for 2012 Want to start filling in your 2012 calendar? Here's some dates to get you started;
There is a list of Dance Party and other dates on our calendar page. 1st Brisbane Dance Party for 2012 is coming soon! Join us for a fun Saturday night of dancing in February 2012.
Beginner DVDs at just $2 per move. For those of you getting started with Le Step, keep in mind that there are two Beginner DVDs. Each has 15 Moves plus technique stuff for $29.95. That's $2 per move. Get both for $55 or get a beginner package deal on your first night. You can order online (see our Le Shop pages) or check out the DVDs at any class. Dress Code at Classes - Summer Thanks to everyone for sticking to our 'Smart Casual or better' dress code. A reminder guys that we do not allow 'shorts' at our classes - even in summer. Shorts and dancing just do not work together. Get some cool trousers. Also, guys for hygiene reasons we do not allow shirts with cut-off sleeves. Most people dress appropriately but if you're not sure, please ask one of our friendly door staff for a copy of the dress code for guys or girls. danceChamps 2012 Whether you're into competing or not, the danceChamps is a fantastic spectator event with some of Australia's top dancers coming to Queensland. There are categories for everyone from beginner upwards. If you are interested in competing please catch up with Mick, Lee, Helen, Julia, Kate or Anthony at class and we can point you in the right direction for more information. The next competition is in Melbourne on the first weekend of May. Our Brisbane danceChamps is on the first weekend of September. Are you new to Le Step? We know that the best dancers are those who get a really good understanding of the basics and the base moves. Our advice is; Don't be in a rush to move into the Intermediate Class. You're much better off spending a few more weeks making sure you've covered lots of the base moves and know them well. Typically the boys require a few more sessions than their counterparts because there is a lot to think about when leading correctly and linking moves. Our comprehensive curriculum means there is plenty of repetition of moves without getting boring. So, stick to the Beginner and Re-Cap classes for a few extra weeks and become a sensational dancer with lots of moves! Facebook "PAGE" Maybe you have been part of our facebook 'GROUP' but we are now moving to a Facebook 'PAGE'. Why? Because businesses are being told by facebook that they need to be a PAGE and not a group. So, the time has now come to migrate everyone to our PAGE. Go on, click the 'like' button. Enjoy the dance floor! From Mick, Rach and the Le Step Team |
