Due to resurfacing of the floor at West End, we need to move out for two weeks.

Yes, the floor was resurfaced not too long ago but it was a pretty dodgy job so they are having it redone. And, usually they give us plenty of notice but circumstances this time dictate that we have not had much notice.

Please phone, text, email, facebook, twitter or whatever your friends so that eveyone gets the message.
You might want to just copy and paste this section of the email.

Starting this coming week, Wednesday 4th and 11th April we will be at South's Leagues Club - Davies Park - Jane St West End. If you're not sure where to go, show up at Colossus Hall 71 Jane St West End before 7:45pm and our crew will redirect you.

You can get water there but a reminder that as a licensed premises you may not bring water bottles into the venue.

danceBLITZ - report
With just over 70 people attending the workshops, danceBLITZ was a great weekend.

My thanks to our teachers; Sean & Charlie and Maddie & Jesse.

Plans are already underway for our next weekender so that we can offer a weekender that also caters for our newer dancers.
New Venue Coming Soon
Starting just after Easter we will be opening our brand new class at Daisy Hill.

Another company closed their dance classes there so I called them up and asked what they
thought of Le Step taking over their regular Tuesday night booking. The proposal was met with a very
positive response and Jason even went and spoke to the management on our behalf. (Thanks)

So, it's all happening in Logan soon.

Daisy Hill.

That means each Tuesday night we will have classes in Daisy Hill and at Chermside.
Le Step On the Coast also has a Tuesday night class at Parkwood/Arundel.
Greatest Shave
As part of the World's Greatest Shave Christina DID cut her hair really really really short.
At our Le Step class on Wednesday night she raised over $200.
In total she raised a few thousand dollars.

Beginner Workshop

The aim of the beginners' workshop is to get you out there on the floor enjoying freestyle as soon as possible - after all, that's what it's all about! You will learn a number of base moves (moves which can be varied later on) in more detail than our regular classes allow. The basic techniques you'll learn from these base moves can then be applied to the many variations you'll encounter in our Intermediate / Advanced classes. Beginner workshops do not require your own partner but you do need to book.


Technique covered will include:
  • Rhythm and Timing
  • Handholds and Leads from the Man
  • Spinning Technique
  • Footwork
  • Freestyling
  • Basic Dips and Drops; and
  • Developing Your Own Style.

Give yourself a head start with a two hour intensive workshop!

Cost: Just $25pp for two hours

Partner: No partner required. However, if you organise your own partner we'll admit the two of you for $45 instead of $25ea.

Competition Workshop
The next 2hr Competition Workshop will share information with you that has taken others a long time to get.
The workshop is full of tips and ideas that will help you in your general dancing as well as at competition.

This workshop will be run by Mick & Julia who have a lot of competition and judging experience. Come listen to what the judges are looking for at the various levels of competition.
