Frequently Asked Questions Do I need a partner? No! This is not the kind of ball for which you need to have a date. This is a FUN party night where everyone socializes with everyone else. There will be lots of singles and couples at the Ball. Will I know lots of people there? Yes! Even if you don't know lots of people from our Le Step classes, there will be lots of faces you recognise from our classes and plenty of other people in the same position as you. You can choose to sit with people you've met at our classes or meet new friends by joining a table of people you don't know yet. Le Step people are friendly - we're sure they'll make you feel very welcome! I've got other friends who might come but they don't dance - can they come? Yes! Everyone is welcome. If you have friends who go to other dance studios or don't dance at all - they are all very welcome. They will enjoy the meal and the dance displays and then can have a dance if they want. Even if they don't know how to partner dance, they can get up and shuffle to the band! Do I need a suit/ball dress? Not at all! It's preferrable 'cause going to a Ball is getting dressed up and seeing everyone else dressed up. But we believe that not having a suit or Ball Dress should not exclude you from having a fantastic night. Every year we get those who dress up to the max! We also get quite a number of people who just wear a standard suit or nice dress. Some come even less dressed up. Our experience is that pretty early in the night the guys ditch their jackets and usually their ties as they hit the dance floor. Guys - want a cheap dinner jacket? Seriously, check out St Vincent de Paul and Lifeline - they often have great looking formal jackets. Is it a Masquerade Ball in 2009? No. The 'Masquerade Ball' is the party theme we have every second year. Will there be lots of dancing? Yes! There will be a good mix. We have organised a few dance displays which will mainly be during the meal time. We also have one of Brisbane's best corporate event bands, "Project 88". Because we want a great sound we have gone the extra mile and got a 5 piece band rather than the small 3 piece. When the band is not playing we will play the best and latest Top 40 & Dance Tracks! This is not the same band as 2007 but the same band as 2008 and the other previous years. Will there be enough food and drink? In 2008 we had a few people say they didn't get enough of the pre-dinner finger food or access to the free drinks. So, this year the pre-dinner finger food and drinks will be served on each table to be shared amongst the people on that table. In this way, we won't have a small number of people standing near the kitchen and accosting the staff for trays of food or drink as soon as they enter the room. Will there be plenty of room to dance? Yes! With gorgeous city views, The Greek Club has arguably the best and largest dance floor in Brisbane and it has a great surface! Do I need a ticket? You must book in advance if you are going to attend. Once your payment is processed you will be notified via email that you are confirmed as an attendee. This and your receipt are evidence that you have booked. Over the years we've found that many people forget to bring their tickets, or lose tickets. So, the system we have found most effective is simply checking your name off the list at the front door when you arrive so that you can enter the venue. How can I pay for a seat? You can pay for seats through Le Step in Brisbane or Le Step On the Coast. You can pay at class or over the phone with Credit Cards - 0412 174 111 or 3849 2553) or via Direct Deposit (contact us for account details) or by cheque sent to Le Step Ball - 23 Kensington Place Wishart 4122. Tickets will not go on sale till 12noon on Monday 6th April 2009. Phone at that time to reserve your seat/table.
