What's it all about?
In 2008, we trialled a brand new concept - an awesome ten day "danceEscape" - which met with roaring success! Everyone left with "see you again in two years time...!".
Similar to that event, we're hosting another Modern Jive danceEscape which will again consist of three key parts;
- 1. Our Queensland escapeWeekender in Maroochydore - Sunshine Coast
- 2. Heaps of workshops, routines, classes, parties & socials throughout the following week
choreographed and taught by a number dancers from Bris & Syd.
- 3. Our biennial 'Queensland Open Modern Jive danceChamps' weekend

Be a part of the Le Step danceWeekender, bringing together Australia's best teachers and dancers over one huge weekend. Be inspired and improve your dancing!
Our previous weekenders have attracted well over 150 dancers from Queendland and further abroad.
The Le Step Queensland Open Modern Jive Champs are only held every second year, and have therefore developed a reputation of attracting the 'who's who' of Modern Jive. Our last three competitions in 2004, 2006 & 2008 had close to 200 competitors at each gathering.
Combining these three events makes it even better value for interstate/overseas guests who only have to fund one airfare to take in all the action of ten days. Enjoy a holiday in sunny Queensland at the same time!
Visiting sunny Queensland? September is an ideal time for a Gold Coast or Sunshine Coast holiday: the weather's warming up but not too hot, the beaches are great and there are many other attractions to see and things to do. If you're planning to stay a little longer, Queensland has lots to see (tropical islands in the sun, world-heritage-listed rainforests, whale-watching, scuba-diving on the Great Barrier Reef) and you can get cheap flights interstate if you want to explore more of Australia. If you're from overseas, it's well worth tripping around Queensland if you're coming to Australia for an extended holiday.
The dancing, the sunshine, the beaches, the theme parks, just relaxing.....

Something for everyone... Beginner through to The Masters.
You don't need to be an exceptional dancer to attend our event, we have plenty to cater for all levels. You just need to be enthusiastic about having a great time.
We are very aware of providing newer dancers with what they need. There are levels of competition to cater for everyone and at our escape Weekender you will always find heaps of dance workshops that are just right for you, whether you have been dancing for 6 weeks or 6 years!

We also have workshops that are tailored for our Intermediate, Advanced and Master dancers. We have a judges' workhsop planned for all of our competition judges and of course we have the combined routine for all Intermediate and higher level dancers.
